Jon Selden
BIO
Jon is a seasoned litigator with over 20 years of experience—ranging from personal injury and wrongful death matters to commercial disputes to maritime cargo and collision cases.
He founded the firm in 2008 to fight for good people hurt by the reckless decisions of others—especially drunk drivers. Previously, Jon worked for personal injury firms in Houston and Austin and one of the oldest maritime law firms in Houston, where he frequently climbed aboard troubled ships in the Houston Ship Channel. In between, he did a stint as a newspaper reporter covering law and government for a lousy PR rag.
Selden attended law school at Gonzaga University School of Law (Go Zags!) and the University of Houston Law Center. He graduated with his juris doctor degree in December 2003. He is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Washington.
Jon currently serves on the State Bar of Texas Jury Service Committee and is a co-author of the Annual Survey of Texas Insurance Law published by the University of Houston’s Journal of Consumer & Commercial Law.
Selden received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a minor in journalism from Brigham Young University, where he graduated in 2001.
Selden married fellow Austin lawyer Suzette Selden in 2003 and they are the proud parents of two little girls named Posey and Daisy. They live in Westlake Hills, where Jon is active in his community and church. He is an Eagle Scout and has volunteered with a local Boy Scouts of America troop.
He snowboards in his native Inland Northwest as often as he can—but not nearly often enough.
